Day-by-Day Journey

Day 1

Arrival in Sri Lanka & Colombo Hotel Check-in

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), meet your dedicated guide, and transfer to your hotel in Colombo. Rest and recover from your flight. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 2

Colombo Capital City & Colonial Heritage Tour

Explore Colombo’s rich blend of modern and colonial heritage. Visit Gangaramaya Temple, Seema Malaka, Independence Memorial Hall, Old Parliament, Galle Face Green, and the historic Pettah bazaar precinct. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 3

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage & Dambulla Caves

Drive towards Dambulla, stopping at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see rescued elephants bathing in the Maha Oya. Afternoon visit to Dambulla Cave Temple to marvel at 2,000-year-old rock paintings and statues. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Day 4

Anuradhapura Ancient Capital & Sacred Bodhi Tree

Spend the day exploring the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura. Tour monumental stupas (Ruwanwelisaya, Abhayagiri), ancient monastic complexes, Samadhi Buddha statue, and the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Day 5

Sigiriya Fortress Climb, Polonnaruwa Ruins & Minneriya Safari

Early climb of Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. Next, drive to Polonnaruwa to view medieval palace ruins and Gal Vihara stone sculptures. In the late afternoon, enjoy a 4x4 wildlife safari in Minneriya National Park. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Day 6

Matale Spice Garden & Kandy City Heritage

Drive to Kandy via Matale spice gardens and a batik workshop. Arrive in Kandy, check into your hotel, and attend the evening Kandyan Cultural Show featuring traditional drums and fire dancing. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 7

Kandy Tooth Temple & Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic during morning puja prayers. Later, explore the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, Gem Museum, and woodcarving galleries. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 8

Tea Country Drive & Nuwara Eliya Highlands

Scenic ascent into the highlands. Visit Ramboda Waterfalls and a high-altitude tea estate & factory. Explore Nuwara Eliya’s colonial architecture, Victoria Park, and Lake Gregory. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 9

Ella Gap, Ravana Falls & Yala Wildlife Safari

Drive down the mountain pass through Ella, pausing at Ravana Waterfall. Proceed to Yala National Park for an exciting afternoon jeep safari to spot Sri Lankan leopards, sloth bears, wild elephants, and crocs. Overnight in Yala/Tissa.

Day 10

Stilt Fishermen, Galle Fort & Bentota Beach

Drive along the south coast, observing traditional stilt fishermen in Weligama. Tour the historic UNESCO World Heritage Galle Dutch Fort and visit a sea turtle conservation project in Kosgoda. Check into your Bentota beach resort. Overnight in Bentota.

Day 11

Madu River Mangrove Cruise & Airport Drop

Take a morning mangrove boat safari on the Madu River in Balapitiya, visiting cinnamon island. Drive to BIA Airport in Colombo for your flight home.
